Cleveland County Courthouse in Shelby NC

This building now serves as the Cleveland County Historical Museum (a very nice museum). David and Nancy (Lambeth) Miller settled in a part of Lincoln County in 1800 that would later be cut into Cleveland County in 1835. David did not live to see this, but Nancy did. Many of her applications for pension were filed here.

Charles and Fereby (~Osborn) Love settled in a part of Rutherford County which would also become Cleveland County. Again Charles Love didn't survive to see the new county formed, but Fereby did. The later tax records on the Love land were filed in Cleveland, before the widow Fereby moved to GA.
